The DS-6 system is increasingly replacing the current MDK system in the WL/EL area. Many customers have MDK systems as an integrated system and would like to expand the system.
A cost-effective and innovative solution is the expansion using DS-6, with simultaneous investment protection for the MDK. Analogue systems can also be connected to the DS-6.
A coupling between DS-6 and MDK or analogue systems is often desired, which goes beyond a normal ZZ connection. In this case, the existing systems are connected to the new DS-6 systems as sub-centres.
Due to the volume of voice traffic, the focus is on the availability of more than one voice channel with multiple destination control via one channel each.
The standard IP network is used to solve this connection task.
The connection to the standard IP network is established via our gateways. Our Com server is used as the central instance for the resulting demands on the software.
Modem for long ranges between DS-6 indoor stations and the DS-6 network node
In IP systems, the range of the Ethernet connection from an end device to the network node is limited to
max. 100 m.
In most cases, this distance is not sufficient. With the "ETH-2W" DSL modem presented here, the range can be increased to 3 km.
The connecting cables between the modems are shielded twisted pair cables.
Only a 2-wire line is required for transmission. If higher transmission speeds are required, the modem can be switched to four-wire operation. The high ranges are achieved using the "SHDSL.bis" method with symmetrical full-duplex transmission.
Transmission speeds: 2-wire 5.7 Mbit/s, 4-wire 11.4 Mbit/s
Power consumption: < 4 watts
A desktop modem is installed on the DS-6 indoor station.
A robust aluminium housing in a 19-inch mounting frame with integrated voltage converter (18 to 75VDC) is provided for installing the modem in the DS-6 network node.
